Connecting Point

The primary ways of becoming connected at BWC is by attending weekly services, engaging in community, becoming a covenant member and serving. Below you will find opportunities that we offer.

If you are interested in any of the following ministries please fill out our volunteer form and express which ministry you are interested in serving. We will get your contact information to the proper people and they will be in touch with you. We need friendly happy people for the following areas: (You would be put on a scheduled rotation to serve in these areas)

Welcome Center - Those willing to work in our information area to help assist people with their questions.

Greeters - Those willing to work our entrances to make others feel welcome when they come in.

Ushers - Those willing to help people find seats during our service, open and close the doors for people during service, help parents/guardians find the nursery if needed during service, receive offering and also pass out communion.

Parking Assistance - Those willing to help an elder or widow park their car, also to offer to assist with an umbrella on rainy days those who may not have one.

Security - Those willing to watch over our campus during times of service.

First Time Guest Team - Those willing to serve on a team that meets first time visitors after church and helps them with questions or general information about BWC.

Some of these areas would be a scheduled rotation, others may not be.

Vocalist

Musicians (pianist, hammond, guitarists, bassists, drummers, horns, etc)
Computer Operator (familiar with a computer and easily trainable)
Sound Technician (operating a sound board and helping with setting up a system)
Video Recording
Video Editing (familiar with editing video and putting together clips)
Audio Recording/Duplication (records messages during services and then copies cds of recording)
Drama (open to youth and adults)
Dance (open to youth and adults)

You must have a background check in order to participate in this area of ministry:

Nursery - Class consists of 0-2 years of age. You would be put on a scheduled rotation to serve for Sunday services and/or Wednesday evenings. You may be asked to help for special events.

Preschool teaching team - These classes have 2-4 year olds, taught with easy to follow and prepare curriculum. You would be put on scheduled rotation.

Kid's Church - A ministry to Kindergarten-5th grade. We need individuals willing to teach and others to volunteer and assist the teacher. The class has easy to follow and prepare curriculum. You would be put on a scheduled rotation.

Royal Rangers - A ministry to boys ranging from 2 up to 5th grade. We need individuals willing to teach and others to volunteer and assist the teacher. This ministry meets on Wednesday nights and may have special events throughout the year.

Missionettes - A ministry to girls ranging from 2 up to 5th grade. We need individuals willing to teach and others to volunteer and assist the teacher. This ministry meets on Wednesday nights and may have special events throughout the year.

You must have a background check in order to participate in this area of ministry:

High Intensity Leadership Team - This team meets with Pastor Javin typically the first monday evening of every month to help brainstorm ideas and discuss what's happening within the student ministry. They also attend Extreme Services to help pray for teenagers and maintain a respectful environment. They are used as chaperons for events as they are available as well.

Small Group Hosts - We can always use host homes for our small groups that meet every other Sunday night opposite of Extreme Worship. You will be put in a rotation system with other homes.

Prayer Team - Anyone who is willing to pray behind the scenes for the the student ministry and for individual students.

Food Preparation - Often times we have special events where we are in need of finger foods, snacks, drinks, etc. We can use people who are gifted in this area.

Tech or Production Assistance - Anyone with computer or sound system training could help in these areas for our Extreme services.

Chaperons - We may need individuals willing to go on trips various times during the year to help lead.

Sacks of Love - We need individuals to help us pack bags that are sent home to over 60 kids every weekend during the school year at Jackson Elementary. These bags provide food for them that they may otherwise would not get.

Food For The Soul - FFS is an organization in town that feeds the homeless and hungry on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. We have volunteers from our church who help serve when assigned by FFS.

Habitat for Humanity - Anyone willing to help home preparations for those with low incomes in need of housing. We serve as called upon by local chapter.

Pathway - This is a program done on Tuesday and Thursday evening to help mentor and tutor elementary aged children.

Missions - We provide opportunities to go across seas and serve in missions.

Prison Ministry - We periodically take teams of individuals to do drama, worship, sharing and/or praying with those in prison.

We do host special events on our campus throughout the year and periodically. Events such as Fall Festival, Winter Wonderland, Kid's Christmas Drama, etc. We would need people in the following areas:

Setup Teams - Those willing to help decorate and set up for the event.

Break Down Teams - Those willing to help clean up and put away after the event.

Photography - Those willing to take digital pictures that can be uploaded to the website or kept for future promotion purposes.

Video - Those willing to take digital video that can be uploaded to the website or kept for future promotion purposes.

We need individuals who are willing to help make repairs as needed around the church. Any handy skills you have are appreciated.

Igniter Groups are community groups that are created primarily for fellowship, study or ministry. They are intended to ignite your relationship with God and ignite new relationships within the BWC family. These groups may meet throughout the whole year or they may be seasonal events. For more details on any specific group please click on the group's button. To be contacted about a specific group, find out when a group may be meeting, or suggest a group that you would like to see started at BWC, please complete the form below. We realize that we may not offer something that you are interested in. We are open to suggestions and will do what we can to provide more opportunities.

Ministry Groups

This is the Worship Ministry of BWC. We meet for practice every Tuesday evening. The band practices from 6-7 and then the vocalists join in at 7 and go to 8pm. We are always open to vocalist, musicians and sound technicians. Frontline is led by our Worship Pastor, Pastor Brian.

PathWay has been established as a community mission outreach program serving at-risk children and their families in Kershaw County. PathWay was founded on and established to be instrumental in providing the PathWay to success through the application of Biblical character, additional educational opportunities, and skills needed to overcome social and economic adversities.

PathWay serves children Pre-K through 8th grade on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30, helping them to complete all of their homework and project assignments correctly and timely. PathWay also has an instructor fluent in Spanish helping with Hispanic children and their families. PathWay additionally serves the children during the summer months with fun filled educational opportunities.

PathWay would love to have you as part of this growing ministry. There are so many ways in which you can serve. For additional information contact the Church Office.

Food for the Soul is an organization that serves the homeless and hungry in Kershaw County. We have a volunteer team that serves as called upon by Food For the Soul.

The drama team is open to young and old. Our practices are typically on alternating Sunday's. You can check the calendar for practice dates. We may be called on to do drama's in church, for special events, or in prison ministry.

Study Groups

This groups meets typically on Sunday Evenings to discover more about the Life of Christ. They dive into the customs and traditions of his day to understand better the teachings of Christ and Christ's culture.

A study group for women that meets to go through various Beth Moore studies.

Periodically we will host the Dave Ramsey Financial class to help those who are interested become better stewards of their finances and get out of debt!

We believe the marriage covenant should be kept sacred and we want to help those who need help in their marriages. This could be a beneficial group for you if you are interested in making your marriage stronger or just want to do everything you can to keep your marriage strong.

This group is for fathers who want to do everything they can to be a Godly father and raise their child to best of their abilities.

Fellowship Groups

This group is for all those 50 and up. We get together monthly for great times of fellowship. You can check what we have going on by visiting the calendar of events.

We are the women's ministry group of BWC. We are open to all women and we plan events and times of fellowship throughout the year for women and the whole church. We are here to be your sister, your friend, to simply meet you where you are through God's love. For more dates on when we may be meeting or hosting an event you can check out the calendar of events.

Our men's group get's together for times of fellowship and also provide ministries to those in the church. You can check the calendar of events for our next meeting time.

The golf group is open to any age and gender that loves to play the game of golf or interested in playing the game of golf. We typically play at White Pines in Camden. If you are interested in joining us, check the calendar of events for our next outing.

We typically have a men's team and a co-ed team that gets together to play every year in the church division of our local rec department. The season runs from April to June.

If you love to ride motorcycles then we invite you to be a part of Truth Riders. This is a local chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association that our motorcycle enthusiasts have partnered with. For more information about this group you can check their website.

The Greater Frontier Fellowship is for those who love horses. If you have a horse or love being around horses come check us out.
