Episode 6

Tim Elmore wrote a great book called “The Eight Paradoxes of Great Leadership.” In it he looks at different qualities that could seem to be contradictory, but actually help balance each other. They are also qualities that every great leader needs in their life. I encourage you to pick up a copy to see how he describes them in detail, and the examples of leaders who illustrate these qualities well.

The first of which he mentions is confidence and humility. Watch the video for a quick explanation and then consider these questions:

  • How do confidence and humility work together?

  • Who do you know that balances these characteristics well?

  • How do you think you are more naturally perceived by others?

  • Is there one that you feel you struggle to convey more than the other?

Comment and share your answers to the questions above. Let us know if you have any additional thoughts or questions.
