  • Our choices may be personal, but the consequences of our choices are not always private.

  • There is a progression of sin that wants to lead us to destruction, and that progression starts with a love of the world. This is why we love the Father and our relationship with Him more than anything.

  • Don’t just take notice of the wickedness you need to avoid, believe in and follow the one who came to save you from the wickedness.

  • God has intervened through Jesus Christ, and when we believe in and follow Christ, we don’t have to live in fear.

  • God’s grace can cover you from God’s judgement.

  • Do your prayers feel with God’s heart and seek with God’s eyes?

  • You have been placed in this community and in your family to pray on it’s behalf.

  • Jesus didn’t allow his disciples to stay huddled in homes hidden in fear. He empowered them with the Holy Spirit to go forward boldly in his name.

  • Abraham followed God, trusted God and prioritized God. We have to do the same.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • Reading and hearing Genesis 18-19 regarding Abraham, Lot, Sodom & Gomorrah - what are some of the most surprising parts of this account for you? What stood out the most?

  • Why do you think God decided to act in the way that he did both with Abraham, and with Sodom and Gomorrah?

  • How does Abraham's pleading with God over Sodom and Gomorrah challenge you? How does God's response encourage you?

  • What lesson can we learn from Lot's wife?

Abraham's bold prayer for his nephew Lot and the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah is a great example for us. We too can go to him with confidence, persistence, and boldness, and he will hear us.
