The Implications of the Resurrection Week 3

Sharable notes for the April 30, 2023 message. You can post these notes on your social platform!

Scriptures used: 1 Corinthians 5: 12-20, 42-55; John 5:25-29; Daniel 12:1-2; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:1-7

  • Although unusual, the resurrection is very real, and embracing it changes everything about your life.

  • There is a vast difference between not having sufficient information or evidence of Jesus resurrection, and not having a willing heart to receive it as truth.

  • While we believe in healing now, ultimate and eternal healing is found in the eternal bodies given to us in the resurrection. It is in our resurrected glorified body that the totality and depth of the proclamation - by his stripes we are healed - becomes a reality.

  • In eternity, Christlikeness is no longer a goal striving to be obtained it is a life we walk in.

  • The problem in our life is sin. The result is the curse of a sin nature. The effects of that sin nature are sickness, evil and death. The answer is the resurrection of Jesus that conquered sin and evil and death and the curse.

  • Because of the resurrection:
Sin has no power over you.
Death has no sting for you.

  • Because of Jesus resurrection your past can be forgiven.
Your present can be powerful and purposeful.
    Your future can be secure.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What types of teachings have you heard about the after life?

  • Does the phrase "death is only the beginning" excite you or make you nervous?

  • How does knowing that Jesus' resurrection impacts your life now, and your life eternally, empower you?

  • How do you want your life to be lived now before you live your life in eternity?
