Scriptures used: 2 Corinthians 6:16; Psalms 11:4; 1 Corinthians 3:17; 2 Timothy 1:9; Colossians 1:15, 19-23; Hebrews 12:1-4; John 2:17; Matthew 21:13; 2 Chronicles 7:1-3

  • We are not working for our holiness to be perfected, we are working for God’s holiness to be reflected through us as a living temple.

  • “Holiness is character before it is ever conduct. It is the very nature of God reproduced in the heart of man.”

  • Don't resign yourself to accepting sin in your life. Instead feel wretched over the sin and turn to God.

  • We can’t be better at abiding in our sin than we are at abiding in Christ.

  • The New Testament church was a group that did not allow outside circumstances to pollute their holiness in Christ. Instead they persevered, and the power of God inside them moved them to turn the world upside down.

  • Jesus' Zeal for you to become a temple of the living God would be what led Him to the cross.

  • A praying temple is a life where our relationship with God is a part of everything that we do.

  • When you live as a temple of prayer, you live in holy anticipation knowing that any moment can turn into a holy moment and a divine moment.

  • When you are a temple of prayer there is a transformative dimension in which God affects change in us, and then a missional dimension in which God affects change through us.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What does it mean to be holy? How does knowing that you are not striving to obtain holiness but to reflect God's holiness help you?

  • What steps should you take to abide in Christ rather than abiding in sin?

  • How easy is it for you to pray?

  • Do you have expectation for how God will use you through your prayers? Why or Why not?
