Scriptures used: Revelation 12:1-12; 17:5-6; 18:6-8; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12; Deuteronomy 6:4-8
Passages Referenced: Revelation 12; 13; 17 & 18
We must not pledge allegiance to any power over our allegiance to Christ.
If you are chasing signs and wonders more than you are chasing Christ you are subjective to deception.
The enemy is the author of confusion and the accuser of the brethren. Anyone who carries that spirit is not of Christ.
The spiritual enemy wants to deceive you. He wants to make you believe the word of God is not true, holds no weight for your life, and that Jesus Christ did not exist.
Any religion that tickles your ears outside of the gospel of Christ or manipulating the gospel of Christ is a false gospel.
When we persistently refuse to obey the truth we soon become incapable of perceiving it.
Our lifestyles as followers of Christ are not to look just like the world around us.
Persecution from the world is a challenge that we fear, but we should be more cautious of the seduction of the world.
We will never be good enough in the world’s eyes that they will speak well of us, but we can be as Peter said, good enough that their accusations carry no weight.
Understanding how much God loves you will keep you strong in your faith.
As followers of Christ we must love the gospel and Christ more than we love anything else.
The spiritual enemy is overcome every time we love the gospel more than we love life defined by the world.
Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:
Thinking back to Jesus' words to his disciples to not be deceived by false claims, why do you think he wanted them to be cautious and mindful of false teachers?
How easy is it to be deceived by things today? How can you stand guard against false teachings?
What kind of things have you heard about the anti-Christ and how have you checked that with the word of God?
In what ways do you continue to understand the love of God for you and grasp the depth of that love? How does holding onto that help you stay strong?
