Scriptures used: Matthew 14:13-21; Micah 6:8; John 15:15

  • Too often our focus is on what we don't have. We think we can't give or serve because we see what we lack in our lives. Jesus says to us, "give what you have to me."

  • What we view as lack Jesus sees as opportunity.

  • You may be the one to change someone's life by speaking life to them.

  • Jesus experienced despair so that He could save us from our despair. You are loved today and the cross is the proof of that love. You have hope and that hope is in Christ.

  • Jesus shows us what our response to sorrow should be spending time with the Father.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • In what ways do you feel you confidently serve God and reach out to others?

  • How do you feel inadequate at times? How do those feelings keep you from serving and reaching out?

  • How do you handle moments of despair or times of depression? Who can you reach out to and find help?

  • Who is someone that may need you to reach out to them? Pray for God to direct you toward someone who may need encouragement.

Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” and He wants to show you the way—one small step at a time.
