Scriptures used: John 15:1-17; 2 Peter 3:11; Romans 6:11; 8:1; Colossians 3:12

  • It's our choice to remain in Christ. We have to stay focused on Him.

  • We stay connected to Christ through our worship, prayer and private study. But we also stay connected to Him by staying connected to His body through community and serving.

  • Our job is to stay connected to Christ, not to stay focused on bearing fruit. If we stay connected we will bear fruit. Let this be liberating. Let Him transform who you are and He will transform what you do.

  • Jesus said He was the True Vine. To say that mean's there are imitators. We can't allow ourselves to be connected to the wrong vine.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • When do you feel like you are connected with someone?

  • In what ways do you feel connected to Christ?

  • How often do you think we try to produce fruit in our own efforts?

  • What "vines" do you find competing for your attention? What imitations do you sometime find yourself connecting to over Christ?

Jesus is the true vine and He tells us that if we remain in Him as He remains in us, then our lives will produce much fruit. He is the source of life. Apart from Him, we can do nothing. Jesus gives us the formula for how to be powerful, difference-making, victorious Christians—and that’s to remain in Him. He’ll supply everything we need for life and godliness as we stay connected to the vine. Join me in this five-day study and let’s learn together how to remain in Him and produce much fruit.
