Scriptures used: Galatians 5:1-15; 1 Peter 2:16; Romans 6:6-12, 8:2; 2 Corinthians 3:17

  • In a world of post truth, we have been given the truth, not to keep to ourselves, bu to share with the world around us.

  • No matter what negative ism we are facing, the truth, love, and power of Jesus can allow us to overcome the root of that ism, including racism.

  • Sin steals, kills, destroys, divides and enslaves, but Jesus, who is The Truth came to set us free!

  • When we see injustice or oppression, we should be offended.

  • Am I allowing a yoke to be put around me that keeps me from being who Christ has called me to be?

  • Yokes that we put on ourselves - I'm not good enough, I'm a prisoner of my past, I can do it on my own, I am weak, I've go to perform, I am alone, I wish I was someone else. Don't let these lies cut in on your faith. Run the race!

  • We are set free to shine the light of Jesus, to demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit, to show love, to serve one another in love,

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • How do you define freedom?

  • In what ways are you moved with compassion for those who are oppressed?

  • Is there a "yoke" that you allow to stay around you that keeps you from being who God called you to be? If so, how can you begin to walk towards freedom?

Instead of unity, many people merely tolerate other races. They simply put up with others without any desire to actually enter into a relationship with them. In this 3-day reading plan, Dr. Tony Evans will help us move away from racial tolerance and move towards reconciliation. We will discuss the keys to authentic biblical reconciliation and why it is absolutely crucial for true unity within the body of Jesus Christ.
