Scriptures used: Genesis 1:26-27; Jeremiah 1:5; 1 Timothy 1:16; 2:4; Galatians 3:25-28; Ephesians 2:3-4

  • Everyone who is born can be born again because of the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  • We are all God's creation, all a part of one race - the human race.

  • We are created different but in Christ we can be one.

  • When we become followers of Christ, our identity is now in Him. There is no adjective that should go before Christian. We are all believers in Christ. One body, many parts, working together.

  • The church doesn't need to be screaming condemnation. The church needs to be proclaiming the love and grace of Jesus.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What were you taught about races growing up? How could those teachings have been right? How could they have been wrong?

  • Do you ever find yourself acting as if one race or type of person is less valuable than you? What can you do when you find yourself thinking that?

  • What does it mean to you to be created in the image of God?

  • What does it mean to you that your identity is in Christ?
