  • Nothing can change on the outside if there is no change on the inside.

  • “To attempt to have national regeneration without personal regeneration is to dream of erecting a house without bricks.” Charles Spurgeon

  • The truth of Jesus may be an offense to the world but we don't have to be offensive when we share it.

  • As followers of Christ living in the world, we can't allow our conscience to be seared. When the Holy Spirit convicts us do we receive His gift of transformation or do we justify, rationalize, or blame others?

  • Don't let yourself grow numb to injustice you see in the world.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • In what ways do you see the gospel blending with tradition in our culture? Have you allowed this to happen personally?

  • In what ways does the Holy Spirit guide your conscience? Do you ever feel him convicting you or do you believe you've grown numb to his guidance?

  • What injustices stir your heart?

  • If you feel like your conscience has been shipwrecked like Paul says in 1 Timothy, what can you do to come back to God?

The Holy Spirit has become the forgotten God. Let’s not forget that the Holy Spirit authored the scriptures, but the author is always greater than his book. Jesus relied on the Holy Spirit while on this earth, thus leaving us an example to do the same.
