  • Your salvation is received it is not achieved.

  • The fear of man will not lead you to the will of God.

  • If we care more about what people think about us then we’ll care less about what God thinks about us, and about the people he’s called us to share his gospel to.

  • The church ceases to be like Christ if it contains class distinctions.

  • We need to trust the empowering of the Holy Spirit and live this life with others.

  • Never under estimate your ability to influence. You are not responsible for others decisions and behaviors but you can influence them.

  • The gospel is not just what saves you, it’s what sustains you and continues to grow you and mature you throughout your life. We never graduate from the gospel.

  • Christ has paid the debt for our sin, but not only did he remove the debt, he gave us the power for a new life. That new life is bookended by the gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit.

  • The gospel is not just about being in Christ, it’s about Christ being in us. It’s more than just imitation, it’s incarnation.

  • Faith in Christ allows us to have life from Christ, with Christ, in Christ and a life that’s lived for Christ!

  • Faith alone saves, but the faith that saves is not alone. In other words faith is shown to be genuine by the fruit it bears.

  • We adore the cradle of Christ, we long for the coming of Christ, but we struggle picking up the cross of Christ.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • Do you ever feel like you live too much for the approval of others? Why do you think that is?

  • How can living from the approval of God free you to better live for people rather than for their approval?

  • Who do you have that can speak into your life when your life may not be reflecting the gospel? If you've never given someone that liberty, who can you reach out to today and ask for that support?
