Jesus cried it is finished and gave up his spirit. We cry out I will follow and then receive His Spirit.
Everything centers around the gospel.
The essence of salvation is you in Christ and Christ in you.
Your acts of obedience don’t save you, but your acts of obedience can open a door for God to work through you.
Trusting in Christ is not our ticket to live how we want, it’s our call to live how he leads.
A life lived under the law keeps our eyes on our self. Grace keeps our eyes on Christ.
Continual growth as a follower of Christ comes from knowing Christ in the power of his gospel and the Holy Spirit.
The more you grow in Christ the more what needs to be broken in you will be broken.
Jesus took our place, and when we put our faith in him, trusting in his finished work, He puts us in His place.
The power to do in the Christian life comes only from what’s been done by Christ through his death and resurrection.
“The gospel produces the best morality in all the world!” Charles Spurgeon
Stop trying to control your status with God and rest in the righteousness of Christ.
Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:
If you could go back and drink from a baby bottle or eat infant cereal, would you do that? Why not?
How powerful is a promise to you when it's kept? What does that do for the relationship?
Where are you looking for meaning, validation, approval outside of Christ and his fulfillment of God's promise?
