Life being lived in the Spirit and walking with the Spirit is a life that is being lived with others. We were created to be dependent upon God and interdependent with one another.
“Biblical love is disadvantaging myself for the sake of others.” Crawford Loritts
The gospel will humble you, complete you and redirect you.
True spirituality isn’t imposed from without; it overflows from within.
We have to remember the gospel that saved us, the gospel that is growing us and the Holy Spirit that empowers us. We must walk in unity and sometimes that means confronting what wants to come between.
People who experience the gospel understand that love requires something from them.
We have burdens that we need help carrying, but we also have responsibilities that we must bear on our own. We can help keep our burdens from becoming too heavy if we take care of our responsibilities.
We are called as a body to share the call of the kingdom. This is our mission. This is our community. This is our generation. We all have different roles but we all share in the call.
Acts of sin grow our appetites for sin, but the more you act on righteousness, the more it becomes a part of you.
Gospel people approach one another with humility, compassion and empathy. We build up, we don’t beat down. We lift burdens, we don’t add burdens. We receive and give generously with each other.
The whole purpose of Christ and the central point of the gospel is that Jesus bore a burden that we could not bear.
"We must do something about the cross and one of two things only we can do —flee it or die upon it.” AW Tozer
Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:
Have you every helped anyone move? What was that experience like? How was helping to carry things that weren't yours to carry?
What does it mean to help carry someone else's burden?
In what ways can we help bring those we love back to the cross and life that represents the gospel without being condemning?
