  • If you want to understand God’s word He gives you the Holy Spirit to help illuminate and bring revelation to your life. Read it, study it and pray over it.

  • The Holy Spirit will help you discern teaching and will help you recognize when the truth is being twisted.

  • The power of lawlessness is already at work in our world. There’s a spirit and ultimately there will be one, but that's not meant to cause hopelessness. There is hope in Christ.

  • Have hope for the future even if in the moment it seems dark.

  • God is always on his throne. He’s not in one place. He’s not uninvolved. He’s not distant.

  • We want to make the Bible just a book of practical tips to help us live a better life. The Bible is meant to be a book that points us to Christ - the one who is the way, the truth and the life - and to understand the grace, mercy and judgement of God.

  • We don’t have to face a judgement that brings damnation.

  • The judgement of man judges to expose, but Jesus doesn’t want to expose. He came to scorn shame and offer mercy.

  • The kingdom we need doesn’t come from this world, it comes from the heavenly realms and began when Christ came to this world. Our hope doesn’t come from this world, our hope comes from the unseen world and comes from Christ Jesus.

  • You may not be kept from pain but you don’t have to panic. God works through every situation to bring His purposes about.

  • You will not find affirmation in the world. But you have all the affirmation you need from the one who came to be your salvation - the son of man who came to seek and to save.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What's the craziest dream you remember ever having?

  • When you think about the end of the world what kind of pictures or thoughts come to mind?

  • What systems in this world do you typically find yourself putting your hope into? How have those systems let you down before?

  • How does knowing that God sees the world's future as history give you comfort and hope?
