Scriptures used: Luke 2:21-33; Psalms 30:5; Psalms 40:1-3; Isaiah 53:5; 2 Peter 3:9; Ecclesiastes 11:6

  • God wants to birth something in our lives through our times of waiting that will change us and the world around us.

  • Our obedience to Christ and His Holy Spirit is what leads us to divine opportunities.

  • When you hold the promise in your hand, the waiting will be forgotten. Wait with joyful anticipation!

  • A dream deferred is not denial.

  • God's timing is happening as we are being faithful and trusting Him. We have no idea how God is moving while we simply trust and obey.

  • We need to have long obedience in the same direction.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What do you remember about the anticipation of Christmas as a child? Do you still get that same anticipation now?

  • What's the hardest thing about waiting for you? Would you describe your waiting as joyful anticipation?

  • What are you waiting for right now?

  • How does the story of Simeon encourage you regarding what you may be waiting on?
