If you compare and compete, you'll live in defeat.
Too often we determine where we are based on where everyone else is, but if we always compare ourselves to others, we will never be good enough.
It can be so much easier to listen to the voice that tells us we are not good enough, but when we doubt ourselves, we are doubting our creator. So take those thoughts that tell you you aren’t good enough and hold them captive.
If we look to others, we will feel insufficient and that can make us feel ashamed, but when we look to Christ, we are reminded that He is sufficient, so we don’t have to be.
When we understand how much God loves us and how much He values us, then how we compare to others doesn’t really matter.
Our responsibility is to use what God has given us for His glory. What are you doing with what God has given you?
We’re actually to consider ourselves less than others, instead of trying to live up to or out do what we see in others.
If we begin to celebrate instead of compare we’ll find peace instead of envy.
Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:
In what ways do you struggle with comparison?
Have you fully realized your value to Christ?
In what ways has God gifted you, or entrusted you with influence? What are you doing with that opportunity?
How can you better celebrate others successes?
