Scriptures used: Matthew 22:34-40; Acts 17:24-27; Luke 10:25-37; 1 Corinthians 3:6-7

  • We have been given two powerful commands as followers of Christ.

1.The great commandment - Love God and love others

2.The great commission - Go and make disciples

  • In the desire to make everyone our neighbor, there is the danger of making no one our neighbor.

  • There is no one - no matter how different from you - who exempts you from the call to love your neighbor.

  • God is calling us to invest in our neighbors, at times make sacrifices, and ultimately show kindness to them.

  • Faith requires trusting that something is happening, even when you can’t see the progress.

  • Jesus stepped outside of His own rights, entered into our pain, and gave His own life for us. How are we being like Christ to our neighbor?

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • Have you seen your neighbors or neighborhood become closer during the pandemic? Would you say you've become closer to your neighbors?

  • How would you describe yourself as a neighbor?

  • What's one thing you could do this week to show love to your neighbor?
