Scriptures used: 1 Peter 3:8-16; Matthew 5:16

  • We should not live in fear of things that are going on around us, instead we should be ready to share where our hope comes from.

  • Spiritual hope is an anticipation of something better because of what has been promised.

  • The gospel of Jesus Christ is that He has overcome sin and death, we can live under His peace, and sin and fear no longer have to have authority over our life.

  • We don’t look at what Christ did on the cross and say I hope that was enough. We live in hope because we know it was!

  • If you package a wonderful message in something that’s profoundly unattractive, don’t blame God when it’s not received.

  • “Love is the ultimate apologetic.” Art Lindsley

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • How would your neighbors feel if you moved away? Do you think you bring value to your neighbors?

  • How good would you say you are at showing extraordinary hope even in the midst of uncertainty? Are you good at exemplifying undeniable grace with those around you?

  • Would others know by looking at your weekly routines that you are passionate about Jesus?

  • Would others know your love for God by the compassion that you share towards others and in meeting needs around you?

It’s easy for us to cross our fingers and hope for the best. But the hope we have in Christ is so much more than that! To have hope means to have a confident expectation. Hope may not come naturally to us, but here’s the deal: to have hope, we must know God. Learn what hope means, why we can have it, and how to live a hope-filled life in this 4-day Bible Plan from Amy Groeschel.
