Sharable notes for the November 21, 2021 message. You can post these notes on your social platform!

Scriptures used: Isaiah 9:6; Jeremiah 9:23-24; John 3:1-21; 5:16-44; 7:40-52; 14:6-12; 17:3; 19:38-39

  • If we want to know what God is like, we need to start by knowing Jesus.

  • It is possible to have listened to Christ, to have heard his teachings, and still not truly know the father. There is a difference in having knowledge of and knowing personally.

  • Your view of a father should start with God. God is not the replica, He is the original.

  • There is no such thing as personal relationship without honesty and commitment.

  • The father's focus is on who we are becoming and what we are producing.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What was your relationship with your father like? Do you find yourself viewing God through the lens of your earthly father?

  • In regards to the statement that when looking at God as father, we have to start with God not our earthly father, otherwise we make God the replica instead of the original - how does that encourage you or challenge you?

  • Would you say you know God or just know about God? What steps do you need to take to make your faith a more personal relationship rather than just information?
