Scriptures used: Luke 1:1-7; Micah 5:2, Isaiah 9:6; John 4:14; Matthew 5:6; Acts 20:35; Luke 12:15-21

  • When Jesus was born, many missed the magnitude of His birth, that the King of Kings and Lord of Lords had entered our world. They missed because they were unaware. The same happens today.

  • We miss Jesus because we don’t think we need Him.

  • In our social media world, as Craig Groeshel says, "We live for likes while still longing for love."

  • We miss Jesus because we're always focused inward.

  • We miss Jesus because we're too distracted.

  • How much time do we give Jesus in our life? Are we missing Jesus as followers of Jesus?

  • When we miss Jesus, we don’t see others (except for what they can do for us), we lose sight of the great commands to love God and love our neighbor, we lose the joy of serving, and we lose the joy of giving.

  • We miss Jesus in our abundance because our focus is on what we have not the one who's allowed us to have it.
