Ready Set Week 3

Sharable notes for the August 15, 2021 message. You can post these notes on your social platform!

Scriptures used: Acts 2:42-47; Genesis 1:26, 2:18; Deuteronomy 7:6; Galatians 3:39, 6:15-16; John 13:34-35; Hebrews 10:24-25

  • We are all on our own journey with God, and our faith is supposed to be personal, but it was never meant to be private.

  • The church is made up of uncommon people devoted to and united around a common cause. Our primary identifying mark is not what we look like and where we came from, but who we follow.

  • As followers of Christ we must be devoted to growing in our relationship with God and with each other.

  • In the absence of division there will be multiplication. A Holy Spirit driven community will create a multiplication movement.

  • We have to be intentional about the community we cultivate within the church and the community we create outside the church.

  • We come to church to be encourage, empowered and equipped so that we can engage the culture around us. So that we can be catalyst for transformation.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • Do you see your faith as personal or private? What do you think the difference is and why would it be important for our faith to not be private?

  • Pastor Javin referenced the rescue of the Chilean minors. How do you think their community together while trapped in that mine helped them survive? How can we relate that to us in the church?

  • Who are you growing in your faith with? If you don't have anyone, what step can you take to change that? Even if you do have someone, what else could you do to grow with others or impact someone else's growth?
