Showing no partiality is the essence of the Great Commandment - love God with everything, love your neighbor as yourself - and even more so Jesus’ last commandment - love one another as he loved us.
Looking down on someone for any superficial reason, or treating them with any less respect because of something they are or are not, is a sin.
Our life with others shouldn't be spent judging one another. It should be spent seeking to out do one another in love.
The evidence we have experienced the mercy of God is that we show the mercy of God.
There should be no way that we experience the generosity of God’s mercy and grace towards us and then withhold it from others.
Faith is internal, works is external. Faith is what God’s sees, works are what others see that reveal where are faith is. Faith is belief in action.
Faith is trusting the work that Christ has done for you through his death and resurrection, and works is the evidence of God’s work in you.
As God works in us we reveal the work he’s doing through our works towards others.
What’s coming out of you is an indication of what’s in you.
We are saved by grace through faith alone, but not by a faith that remains alone.
God doesn’t need to see our works in order for us to earn our salvation, but our neighbors will see our faith when we show them our works.
Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:
In what ways have others prejudged you before?
In what ways have you been guilty of prejudging others?
How can the way you treat others demonstrate your faith in Christ?
