Scriptures used: Colossians 2:6-8; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Matthew 7:17-20; Galatians 5:19-23; Ephesians 2:19-20; Colossians 1:5-6

  • Living a mature Christian walk will never happen accidentally. For us to grow in Christ we must be intentional about what we do.

  • Studying scripture helps us grow in our faith. Scripture is not just words on a page, it's food for the soul.

  • We grow in Christ through our worship, our service, our giving, our times in community with others and when we share our faith. All of these things take focus off ourselves and put them where Jesus called us to - God and others.

  • We are called to be rooted in Christ and rooting takes time, nourishment, and fertilizer.

  • As we grow in Christ and make Him our foundation, He builds us up and strengthens our faith.

  • What if we were intentional about our faith and were purposeful about our call in Christ?

  • Don't let your visions of the past overplay the visions of the future Christ has for you.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • How have I seen growth in my faith journey?

  • Where can I challenge myself to see more growth? (Bible study, worship, serving, giving, community, sharing my faith)

  • Am I growing in thankfulness? What can I do to produce more gratitude?

We expect trees, grass, animals and babies to grow. When they don’t, we know something is wrong. What is true in the natural realm is also true in the spiritual realm. Believers are expected to grow, and when they don’t, something is wrong. In this five-day reading plan, Dr. Tony Evans will introduce you to the process of spiritual growth.
