The Mount Week 1
Sharable notes for the September 8, 2019 message. You can post these notes on your social platform!
Scriptures used: Matthew 5:1-3, 27-28; 1 Corinthians 6:11; Mark 10:1-11; Romans 6:19-23
In the sermon on the mount, Jesus is describing not just what a Christian should do, but who a Christian IS as a result of being saved by God’s grace and the Holy Spirit’s daily work in our life.
What Jesus taught went deeper than just our actions, it reaches to our hearts and who we really are.
Any identity we create for ourself outside of Christ is only a facade.
Actions come from what's within, that's why any change that happens in our life must start within.
We are blessed when we open our arms in full humility and say I can't, but God you can!
Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:
How does Jesus' teaching challenge you?
How do you see things that are inside you come out in your actions?
Are there things within you that you need the grace of Jesus to transform?
