Difference is inevitable. Division is a choice.
The bond we have in the body of Christ should be stronger than political affiliation. That bond should be empowered around the Kingdom of Christ.
The gospel that saves comes from an empty tomb in Jerusalem that was defeated by a savior named Jesus who is the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Jesus followers must neither withdraw from our community nor seek to lord over, but rather faithfully represent the values of the King we serve.
Change happens by our actions not our opinions.
Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:
When it comes to politics are you passionately involved, do you feel you're pretty balanced, or do you stay out of it mostly? Why is that?
In what ways have you seen politics become divisive in the body of Christ?
What steps can you take to better unite the body in the midst of differing opinions rather than allowing our differences to divide us?
