Scriptures used: Luke 9:57-62; Revelation 3:16; Luke 22:32; 1 Corinthians 3:6-9; John 6:66-68

  • Jesus didn't call us to follow him only went it felt good. He called us to be committed no matter the cost.

  • Our commitment to Christ cannot simply be for the benefits. We must be committed because we believe that He is the Son of God who in love came to save us from our sins and give us a new life in Him.

  • There may be some situations where you plant the seed of God's word, and there may be some situations where you water the seed. In whatever the situation trust that God will grow the seed.

  • We cannot follow Christ with conditions. We must follow Christ with commitment.

  • Being a follower of Christ is not about Christ following us wherever we go, it's about us following Christ wherever He leads us.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What does being committed to Christ mean to you?

  • How do you continue to follow Christ when it's difficult?

  • Do you think you are guilty of having a consumer faith sometimes? Why do you think that is?

  • Are you ready to follow Christ whenever and wherever He may lead you?
