Scriptures used: Luke 10:29-37; Romans 8:33; Matthew 25:40; Psalms 103:2-4; Lamentation 3:22; Ephesians 2:3-4

  • The key to the words of Jesus is not just hearing them, but putting them into practice.

  • Salvation doesn't come through what I do, but through what Jesus has done. My action becomes a choice to receive and then let the Holy Spirit work in my life.

  • When we see a need, what are we doing to meet that need?

  • Through His death and resurrection, Jesus takes our wounded hearts & lives and makes us whole.

  • Jesus said all the law hangs on two eternal principles that are both foundational and formational: love God & love our neighbor. When we love God He changes us within which empowers us to love our neighbor.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • Who is your neighbor?

  • What do you believe it means to love your neighbor? How difficult is this to do?

  • Why do you think the expert in the law in Luke 10 could not specifically answer that it was the samaritan and instead chose to answer generically?

  • Do you believe you have ever allowed hate or tradition to cause you to miss a divine revelation? How so?
