Scriptures used: 1 Corinthians 13:1-7; Mark 7:20-23; Romans 12:12, 21; Ephesians 4:2-4; 5:1-2; James 3:16-18

  • The love we often come across in this world is temporal. The love of God is eternal.

  • Our greatest weapon is love.

  • We are not called to fight the world to protect God. We are called to demonstrate God's love to the world.

  • To dream of a world filled with love is to be patient with others and be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

  • To dream of a world filled with love is to let kindness be your natural reflex and your default action.

  • Love exemplified through kind acts can be contagious. What can your kindness be a catalyst for?

  • To dream of a world filled with love is to live in contentment and generosity, avoiding envy and jealousy.

  • To dream of a world filled with love is to die to our self and not put our selfishness over others.

  • To dream of a world filled with love is to be a person who forgives, trusts, perseveres, hopes in and protects your relationships.

  • Make a choice today to not look for the negative.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • If you were to replace your name with the word love in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, how accurate would that description of you be?

  • What steps can you begin to take to improve that description in your life?

  • We often have gaps in our life we are searching to fill with something. They often get filled with pain, regret, anger, addiction. How can you begin to let the love of Jesus fill those gaps in your life?

As Christians, all of who we are and what we do should be grounded in God's kind of love—a love that is not based in emotion or condition. This love has no reason. It just is. It's called agape! Learning to operate in this kind of love is the healing power for a hurting world. It's not always easy, but it is possible. Love is the essential element.
