Scriptures used: Hebrews 12:1-3; Galatians 6:9; Hebrews 10:32-39; Hebrews 10:22-23

  • There will always be reasons that cause us to want to quit and give up, but our reaction must be to take courage and keep going.

  • Courage is only as good as the confidence behind it. You can take courage because the Lord God is with you always.

  • Stop looking for your hope in the things of this world. Stop looking for a significant other to be your answer. Stop numbing yourself with the vices of this world. Put your confidence in Jesus. Fix your eyes on Him.

  • Confidence does not last when it's built on a gospel of me or it's based on our feelings. Our confidence must come from the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the cross and His resurrection.

  • Don't let the culture around you defeat your confidence in Christ. Jesus endured the cross conquering death, and the power of this Gospel will always endure.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • In what ways do you feel defeated? What brings your confidence down?

  • How easy or difficult is it for you to take courage and have faith? Why do you think that is?

  • What can help you grow your confidence in Christ?
