Scriptures used: 1 Corinthians 13:13; 1 Thessalonians 1:3; Hebrews 11:1, 6:19; 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

  • Nothing should be more important to us than the gospel. Jesus Christ died for our sins, was resurrected defeating death, hell and the grave. Because of this our lives can become new in Him. The gospel is of first importance.

  • Faith should motivate us to do the will of God, hope should allow us to endure through everything, and love should impassion our service to others.

  • Faith, abiding trust in God and what He has done for us, is essential to our walk with Christ.

  • Fear is the absence of faith, or the result that comes from what we were putting our faith in has failed us. Jesus encouraged His followers to not be troubled, don’t fear, trust in Him.

  • Hope, confident expectation of eternal salvation and in God’s promises, is essential to our walk with Christ.

  • Hope in Christ is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our soul.

  • Love, unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for us, is essential to our walk with Christ.

  • Love is the greatest quality of all because it is the quality that exemplifies Christ and our Heavenly Father. It is the quality that leads others to Him.

  • Love is the reflection of who our faith and hope are in.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What are we putting our faith in? What are we making of first importance in our life?

  • Where is our confident expectation? Is my hope in something strong and secure or something that wavers and changes with the days?

  • Is my life characterized by love? Am I loving God with my heart, soul mind and strength and am I loving my neighbor as myself?
