Fear Not - The Christmas Message

Sharable notes for the December 19, 2021 message. You can post these notes on your social platform!

Scriptures used: Luke 2:8-14; Romans 3:21-22
Stories referenced: The genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1 and Luke 4

  • God approves of and loves you more than you realize. He favors you more than you know.

  • God is always faithful, always in control, always working to fulfill his promise in a perfectly designed way.

  • Jesus came to break curses and to show favor to those who weren't shown favor to.

  • It doesn’t matter if you’re the religious of religious or the chief of sinners. Jesus’ love and grace has been made available to all people.

  • When you follow Christ, no longer will you worry about doing enough to be good enough, you will do enough good through the goodness he produces in you.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • Do you ever feel like you aren't good enough? Why do you think that is?

  • In what ways do you try to earn God's love?

  • How does it help you to know that the people in the genealogy of Jesus were broken and imperfect people just like you? Is there one story from Jesus lineage that relates to you more than the others?

  • What is the difference between doing good to feel good enough and doing good because of the good that's been done for you?

God prepared the world for Jesus the Messiah right from the very beginning. He made sure His world knew ahead of time that the Messiah was coming. This is the first of three devotionals that give the prophetic pronouncements of the Messiah – and how they were fulfilled. This devotional shows the prophecies of the lineage of Jesus starting from the garden of Eden right to Mary.
