Disagreements happen all the time, and they happen in the church, but we have no room to disagree on the gospel.
It is only by the grace of God that comes through Jesus Christ that we can be at peace with the Father, with each other and within our soul.
It’s one thing to know the truth, but unless we make a firm decision to stand on the truth of Scripture, we make ourselves vulnerable to false teaching.
There should be an outward show of inner change in our life.
Jesus worked for you, He works in you and He works through you.
The "gospel truth" is that we don't change the Gospel, but the Gospel changes us!
We have to be careful to never let our culture become gospel. Gospel never bends to the culture, the culture always bends to the gospel.
Our contribution to our salvation is that we did all the sinning that we need saving from. That’s it.
We do not become more godly because of legalism, but because of our faith in Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit at work in us.
Our salvation is not sealed by anything we do, it’s sealed by His Holy Spirit.
Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:
What has been your understanding of the book of Galatians? How would you describe the letter to someone else?
If you were asked by someone to explain the gospel of Christ, how would you explain it? How does Paul's simple description of grace and peace help you?
What kind of things have you seen added by Christians and churches to make others feel like those things must be done in order for you to be saved?
