Scriptures used: Luke 2:8-11; Hebrews 11:1; 1 John 4:4; John 3:36, 8:32; Luke 1:26-30; Psalms 23:4, 34:4; Isaiah 41:10

  • Fear is the enemy of joyful anticipation.

  • If we are in Christ then we are called to step out in faith. Don't focus on what you can't do, focus on the one who can do the impossible.

  • The news of Jesus is good news that brings great joy - it is our basis for faith over fear.

  • In Bethlehem we learned that God is with us.
At the cross we say that God is for us.
During Pentecost we discovered that God is in us.

  • When we have a higher view of God it will cause a greater response towards Him.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • In what ways do you let fear control you?

  • If someone were to define your view of God based on how faith is represented in your life, what do you think they would say?

  • How does the idea of God being with you, for you and in you encourage you? Should it cause you to operate with greater faith in your life?

Do you feel afraid? Full of fear? You’re not alone! Fear might be where we start, but it is not where we need to stay. What if we could move from fear into trust? This five-day reading plan is a space where, together, we can acknowledge our fears and look into the Bible to discover the good news about the God whose perfect love casts out all fear. Fear Not!
