A goal of the church should be to reflect the love of God.
The Spirit of God has been given to us by Jesus to enlighten our understanding to his word and give us power over sin as discovered in his word.
The church was and still should be devoted to the word of God, to God’s presence, to prayer, to generosity and to each other - united together amongst diversity in Christ.
Diversity does not have to create division. Unity in the midst of diversity elevates our witness.
The incredible experience of salvation through Jesus Christ should lead us to being connected to the body of Christ, His church.
If you want diversity you have to be willing to fellowship with people who are different than you.
There’s nothing wrong with natural affinities. The problem is when affinities become walls.
Before Christ, we’re all on equal footing. We were all on the outside. But through Jesus' death and his resurrection we can be one in Him.
When you have a group of people with little in common except for a common experience of grace—that points to the magnitude of the gospel and the power of the life change it brings.
Love on display in the church is a powerful witness for the gospel of Christ.
Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:
Have you ever disassociated from a group of people because of how they acted? Why?
Do you think people have become disassociated from the church for similar reasons? Why?
What role can you begin to take as a part of the church to reflect Christ more clearly in the church?
