Passages Referenced: 2 Samuel 6

  • The Spirit of God makes the presence of God come alive in us. It also makes the mission of God personal to us.

  • We become like Christ through the empowerment of the same Holy Spirit who empowered the life of Christ.

  • To treat the Holy Spirit as anyone or anything less than God is wrong.

  • There may be times in your life where the Holy Spirit will lead you out of your comfort zone so that you have to rely on him as your comforter.

  • We’ve can overcome self-consciousness that sin has created in us with the help of the Holy Spirit. Be filled with the Holy Spirit to the point where you are not self-conscious you are God conscious.

  • From the very beginning God has been telling creation to relax because his Spirit is hovering over it.

  • “God is above all things presiding, beneath all things sustaining, outside all things embracing, and inside all things filling." A.W. Tozer

  • The spirit of God empowers us to see God‘s mission accomplished no matter what it means to our own personal interests.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • What is your understanding of who the Holy Spirit is?

  • How do you view the Holy Spirit's role in your life?

  • In Acts 2 we see three groups of people in regards to the work of the Holy Spirit - those who encountered the experience, those who were genuinely curious and seeking to know more, and those who were skeptics and rejected. Which group or groups have you found yourself in? Why is that?
