  • God wants to give us a rest that enables us to stop being weighed down and burdened. A rest that keeps us from relying on things that don’t bring true fulfillment. A rest that truly refreshes us and restores us.

  • This sabbath rest was and is a declaration of trust.

  • We can rest in the fact that our righteousness, our security and our identity are in Christ.

  • Today. This moment. God is with you today. He’s got what you need for today. You can rest in him today, and because of this, you can live in the moment He is giving you.

  • The only way to be fully present in the moment is to let go of a past you can’t change trusting God has covered it, and then surrender your future and trust that God’s directing you.

  • With Christ you can be at rest even as you work.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • How have you typically defined rest?

  • How well rested do you feel on a typical day?

  • If you don't feel like you live in a place of rest, what keeps you from that?

  • What do you need to surrender in order to live in God's rest?
