Scriptures used: Mark 10:45; Ephesians 4:7; Philippians 2:3; Hebrews 6:10-12; Matthew 6:3; Philippians 2:7; Matthew 5:16; 25:40; 23:11-12

  • Greatness in the Kingdom of God is having a servant's heart.

  • Serving must be a lifestyle not an isolated event. It's the difference between a lifestyle of honor versus simply completing a task.

  • “There is a difference between choosing to serve and choosing to be a servant. When I choose to serve I retain control about who I serve and when I serve. But when I choose to be a servant I give over my rights and all control about who and when, I just serve.” Richard Foster

  • “Our lives will never be about Jesus if we keep making everything about ourselves.” Bob Goff

  • If we were on trial for having a servant’s heart would there be enough evidence to prove us guilty of blessing others?

  • “Planning to love people is more difficult than just loving people. It’s easier to make plans than to make time.” Bob Goff

  • “I am a pencil in the hand of God writing a love letter to His children.” Mother Teresa

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • When you think of servanthood, what comes to mind? Who comes to mind?

  • How do you think you are when it comes to serving?

  • What ways can you get better at serving?
