Scriptures used: Romans 8:14-17; John 12:49; Matthew 19:16-26; Acts 7:55-60, 8:1-3; Romans 8:35-39; 2 Timothy 4:7

  • Humans have an innate desire to reach out for a parent. We are looking for someone who loves us, can take care of us, and can comfort us. Our spirit yearns for a father.

  • The greatest challenge/impossibility we have ever faced in mankind is that we were hopelessly separated from God.

  • Anything we believe brings us satisfaction, security and meaning outside of Christ can cause us to miss the true fulfillment of following Him.

  • It brought Jesus joy to tear down the impossible hopeless separation that stood between man and God and offer man the hope of salvation.

  • By the blood of Jesus we are released from the penalty of sin and we are released from the power of sin by the power of His Spirit.

  • Jesus was forsaken so we could be forgiven. He was pushed away so that we could draw close.

  • The greatest impossibility we ever faced, the hopeless separation from God, has been done away with because of Jesus Christ and now NOTHING separates us from the love of God!

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • When you think of God as a father, what images come to your mind?

  • What things did your dad tell you growing up that have stuck with you and helped you?

  • How have God's promises helped you through difficult times? How can you rely on them even more?

What if God could send you a message to assure you that he’s got everything in your under control? He has! God has sent you messages of hope in his Word to help you combat even the biggest of life’s challenges. As we read, declare, and pray these promises, we understand more deeply that he loves us, he is with us, and he will never leave us.
