Scriptures used: Matthew 5:8-9; Psalm 51:10; Psalm 119:9-11; Ephesians 2:14-16

  • It is by the grace and mercy of Jesus that we have been made pure, not of our own efforts.

  • We can either strive to live righteous under our own power, or let God change us by His power. The latter is better.

  • A heart focused on Christ sees God's presence and His moving all around. You see God in all your situations and circumstances, in creation, in the details of your life, in the bigger picture. You see Him molding your life. You see His love and patience, and you see Him in those around you.

  • As children of God, we carry the peace of God with us.

Reflect or meet with someone to discuss:

  • Do you find yourself working in your own strength to do what's right? How can you focus more on God and allow His Spirit to work in you?

  • When you think of a peacemaker, what comes to mind?

  • How can you bring more of God's peace to the places you go in life?
